Does anyone use the program Gimp? It's similar to Photoshop but free right? Does it work well in your experiences? Thanks. :apple:

Oh man it is great, it requires X11, though, so make sure you have that. Yes it's free, but no you don't get what you pay for, you get more. I'd say with my 2 years of experience with the GIMP at home and Photoshop CS3 at work the GIMP 2.2 is WAYYYY better, trust me, get it.

I just downloaded last night -- definite learning curve over PhotoShop because it does thing differently but worked for what I needed.

Depending on your need, you may want to try our Seashore. It's a native Cocoa app based on GIMP, but not quite as powerful. I use Seashore a lot when I don't quite need the power of GIMP, but GIMP is a little necessary once in a while if you need more Photoshop-like power.

What is X11? Is it free?
