Ginormous “Start Page” Tab in iPad Safari

Is there any way to make that ginormous “Start Page” button smaller, and hopefully let the minuscule other tabs reclaim some of that space?

which iPadOS beta are you running on which iPad model? Running iPadOS 26.0 (23A340; dev beta 9) on a 11” iPP the start page tab opens has always the width of the other tabs indicators:

How many tabs do you have open (maybe what you see is a function of the total number of open tabs)?

Are you using any Safari extensions, which?

Release version of iPadOS 26. Just the tabs you see. Extensions 1blocker and XSearch.
