Girlfriend's iPhone 3G S battery issues?

Hi,

I recently bought my girlfriend a 3GS (less than a week ago) and she's complaining about the battery running out very quickly.

Are there many issues with the iPhone batteries? And can anyone give me a definitive way of testing it out?

I have a normal 3G phone I have no complaints about my battery.

Any ideas?
