Does anyone know of a program that can trim the collar off of a USGS topographic quadrangle map in tiff format? I know I can do it manually in Fireworks but I've got a lot of maps (several thousand) and I don't want to lose the georeferencing file (tfw). All of the pro apps cost serious $$$ (TNTmips, Avenza, etc.) and GRASS GIS (open source) seems a bit intimidating. The thought of working in the terminal leaves me ashen-faced. I have entertained the possibility of going with these cats for a better GUI but something is keeping me from pulling the trigger.
