With my iPhone 4, my 1st generation iPod Touch is pretty redundant for me, now, so I'd like to give it to my Mom, and eventually prep her for an iPhone. I'm on Mac, she's on PC. So how would I be able to completely wipe out the iPod without my information on it, so she could use it, as if it were brand new?

Here's the one caveat to that, though: I paid the $10 update when iPod Touch hit 3.0. Is there a way I would be able to wipe out all the information, but still retain that update without having to repurchase?

Thanks!

Just do a restore and it'll drop a fresh install of 3.1.3 on there. If you disconnect it when iTunes tells you that it's finished and that the iPod is restarting, then it'll boot to the "connect to iTunes" screen just like a brand-new one does.

Awesome, worked perfectly. Thanks!
