I have an old MacBook (white 2006) that I will be giving away. What is the correct way to format the hard drive so that none of my personal information will be left on the MacBook.

Do I use the reinstall discs and chose "erase and install a clean copy" of MacOSX ? Will that be sufficient enough?

TIA

Sims, thank you for your quick reply and information.:)

TouchdownJesus, as a fellow Notre Dame fan, I can't give you my MacBook but I sure hope ND has a great season this fall ;)

Yeah I sure hope so too, haven't done well at all since they went to the fiesta bowl like 5 years ago. I'm hoping for a national championship some time in the next 5 years haha
