I am giving my MacBook Pro an extended life by installing a larger hard drive (750GB) and go from 4GB Ram to 6GB. Should the 4GB installed in the first slot or it doesn't matter?

I read "Understanding Intel Mac Ram." However, there is no mention of slot preference. So, I was wondering what others who have upgraded their MacBook pro, especially late 2007 2.4ghz models have experience.

Well, since no one had responded, I took the safe bet and installed the 4GB in slot one. The Macbook Pro has been performing without any hiccups; so, the MA897LL/A MacBook Pro can unofficially run 6GB of RAM.

I prefer the bottom slot (technically it would be the top slot, but since you access it from the bottom of the computer, it's the bottom slot facing the back).

Then again it doesn't really matter.

Sorry for unclear question - I meant two banks with 4Gb (perhaps somebody tried that), but if hardware isn't able to work with 6Gb+ then I'll sleep calm :).
Thanks for answers!
