giving series 6(GPS+cellular) to a friend as a gift... she uses Google Fi(which obviously doesn't support Apple Watch)...

so what's her best option for a standalone monthly cellular plan just for the Apple Watch, since she can't switch away from Google Fi.(which is paid through her employer)

AFAIK, no US carriers offer completely standalone Apple Watch plans.

Your friend can still use the watch without a cellular plan though.
