Glass Folder Icons...

Maybe I'm just retarded.

Last I checked... you opened "get info" for whatever folder icon you wanted to change, copy and then paste the new image to the upper left icon of the Get Info box.

Well, I have the glass folder icons and since the new stack display folder thing came into play I want to change my Applications, Downloads, etc... to the glass ones.

How do yah do it?! :confused:

It could be that you first have to run these glass folder icons through pic2icon so that the thumbnail has the icon showing it.
 
Open get info for the folder you want to change AND for the icon folder as well. Copy and paste between the two 'get info' screens. That is how I do it :D
 
for some reason my comp had a problem with this to. i had to do this numerous time and then it would work, like 10 or more. after i reformatted my comp it worked like a charm every time.
 
alright, thanks I finally got it to work.

but

I accidentally change some folders icons which I didn't want to and can't get it back to the original. (I tried un-do)

What should I do now?

nevermind! i got it!

If anyone is wondering the answer to my question all I did was open "Get Info" for the folder I wanted to change back to the original, clicked/highlighted the icon at the top left of the get info box, clicked edit, then cut.

and waallaa. :)

was just going to say that.
just cut the image and it will go back
 
I come in with all the answers, and of course everything is already answered. You guys are too good. I love MacRumors for this reason; it is like have a 24/7 technical support team for anything and everything Mac. Man, I'm happy I finally own a Mac now. w00t. :apple:

and yeah i know the feeling you get when you realize the mac community is so strong, its amazing :).

Manual change of icons ?

Hi,

I like the way the Glass Icon look, for my new MBA, but do you have to change the icons manually one by one or is there a process to update them all at once ? And then a process to bring them back to default all at once as well ?

If it has to be manual, would really be a pain...
