Hi so I just installed OS X Lion, clean install (reformatted HD and installed the OS). Thing is, when it first was in the "Installing OS X" it got stuck at "13 minutes remaining" for around 15 minutes, the progress bar frozen. So I hit "Restart" from the top menu bar... And the installer began again

My question is: Does the installer write over what it had previously written? Or is there ghost data of that first attempt somewhere in my hard drive? I'm just being paranoid right? :(

Yes you're being paranoid. The installer will overwrite previous files with new copies. You won't end up with duplicate data.

New files having the same name as previously written ones overwrite the old. That's just how computers work.
