Hi,
Sometimes I have a ton of stuff open, and just want to close it all quickly. Is there a global close command that will close everything at once???

Thanks.

Frank

Not really, no

In the finder, you can close all open windows using command-option-w. Some other applications work the same way but not all and you have to do each application separately in any case.

I don't know of one either, but when cycling through open programs using command-tab you can close them with command-Q. You can close a lot of open programs pretty quickly.

You could try command-tab, then pressing 'h' to hide the relevant windows or 'q' to quit. Holding down command and pressing tab scrolls along the selection.

Not quite what you're looking for but it works pretty well. If you're just looking for clear desktop space then there is always exposé too (F11).
