global folder view settings in ML?

I want all my folders to be arranged by kind and then sorted by name. I clicked on "use as defaults" which is what I've been doing since SL but it seems it doesn't want to stick. Like I need to set each folders view properties.

Any ideas on how to do what I want? thanks :)
