Global Proxy Settings

Hey
Has anybody heard anything about the Global Proxy Settings? Can't seem to set them at the moment and wondering if we will be able to lock them at last.

My question about this would be whether the proxy settings work for apps? We have our iDevices going out a different route on our network with... limited filtering because we couldn't get the proxy to work for anything beyond basic Apple Apps (Safari, Mail, etc.).

Have they fixed that? Or is this something else?
