Assuming apple will release MBP soon. I was just wondering what everyone is getting? Will it be glossy or antiglare? I understand that 13 inch doesn't offer this option yet. Hopefully.. maybe in next update or in the future.

But, people who are buying 15 inch and 17 inch, which one are you guys buying? Antiglare or glare?

Please give me an advice. Thanks.

It really depends on your needs and wants for the machine, not other people's. Have you looked at the current glossy and antiglare screens side by side? Maybe that's where you should start to compare the two.

I like my glossy screen, but there are times I wish for matte. Especially when reading for an extended period or if there is any light behind me shining on the screen.

The glossy makes the letters look blacker for some reason; which I like, other than that; I see no real advantage.

I'm always sitting next to table lamp. There's a TV in the room and I can always see the reflection of the lamp in the TV, but not in my MBP since it's matte. I often wonder if I could put up with the image of the lamp in my MBP screen too.

I enjoy the glossy screen and with my usage I have never had a problem with glare ... plus it is easy to keep clean

This divides people like almost nothing else but in the end it`s just down to personal preference and budget.
I do think anti-glare should be a no-cost option for those who want it but it`s currently tied to HR.

IMO, it's anti-glare FTW!!! :D :D i don't know about you, but i find the silver bezel better looking than the black. AND you don't get horrible reflections ^^

do they usually have some with anti-glare in the apple stores to look at?

They usually have one 17" and one 15" with the anti-glare option. The high res anti glare 15" is what I have and I love it. 1680x1050 all the way!

I have the 17" hi res as well as a 24" ACD so one can say that I have the best of both worlds. :p However, comparing the 2 screens side by side, I have to say the ACD looks much better - the colors are so much brighter. The AG by itself looks very nice too but I keep missing the brightness of both the colors and the screen whenever I see a glossy macbook pro around (and that's a lot!). Also, I think the black boarder looks much better then the silver benzel. I'm definitely going glossy on my next mbp .... maybe ....

Antiglare. Not having an antiglare option in the upcoming MBP would make me purchase an older refurbished one instead, and hope that Apple will release a new antiglare mbp within 2-3 years.
