I haven't heard of/seen any difference in the resale value of the screens. Just keep it in good shape if you're worried about the resale. As for which one you should get, glossy will work best inside in a normal house-like setting with dimmer lights, and gives a little more clarity than matte, but glare would be an issue you would need to deal with. The matte screens, for all intents and purposes, are essentially the same, unless you're working with high quality movie or picture files, but have less glare (i.e. so you can work in more diverse and brighter lighting situations).
