Does any one else get an error trying software update on the GM seed?

First, are you using the right iTunes version? 10.5 beta 7+

Second, are you using the right GM file for your device? Each has its own, even CDMA vs. GSM phones.

Third, if you ever JB'd before, your hosts file may have been changed to point gs.apple.com to Cydia's servers to enable you to restore to an older firmware. If that's the case, then you need to comment that line out of your hosts file.

Yes and its annoying me as I have updated to every previous version of iOS5 Beta.

I am getting the following, both on my iPad 2 and iPhone 4...

How do you check the host file again?

1. if you have tinyumbrella installed, you need to uncheck a box in advanced options.
2. you can't do an update from 4.3.5 (my experience). i had to backup, restore, then restore from backup

running fine here, no issues.

I am a developer

this is a restored iPhone from GM seed.

No jailbreak. It restored fine. Software Update gives an error on GM seed.
