I prefer the Gmail app over the iPhone mail app. One thing I can't find a way to change in the settings is when opening Gmail and I get the list of all my emails (shows 9 of them on my iPhone XR), how can I eliminate the email "snippet"? All I want to see is the sender and the subject line, not the first row of my email body.

In the computer web browser version of Gmail, there is a setting to hide the snippet. And the native iPhone email app can be set this way. Am I missing something in the iPhone Gmail app? Basically, just want to be able to view more messages in my list (should be 50% more) if the snippet is hidden. Thanks!
