Gmail doesn't support pop3/imap which you'd need to add your gmail account to mail.

DON'T USE BOLD ALL THE TIME! IT DOESN'T MAKE PEOPLE RESPOND ANY FASTER!

Someone made a package for osX, which auto installed gmailpopd.py...
I have it on my home machine, I'll post the dmg later, you can still try setting up gmailpopd.py and pointing mail.app to a pop account on localhost.

Okay, I really need some coffee :)

here you go :)

On the other hand, gMail changed its service today and you can setup a forwarding address in your gmail account, so you don't need this hack anymore :)

Although I don't know if your ISP will allow sending emails through their SMTP server with an @gmail.com email address.

have fnu!

This is good news, since I use GMail myself. Will .Mac accept address@gmail.com though, since that's what I use Mac OS X Mail for?

the gmail forwording works great with the email address that my isp gave me and best of all, no ads in mail.app when its forworded to my pop address from sbc

Great!

Watch out though, don't get too addicted on this feature as GMail clearly states that it is free of charge for now in their what's new page.
