Gmail Contact Sync question...

Hi guys just synced my iphone contacts with Gmail contacts and I was wondering if the sync for the contacts is pushed based like the emails? or does it check it at predetermined times (ie. every 15 minutes). I'm asking because I don't want the contacts sync to eat up my data plan. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it's push based. I almost never go over 500mb a month.

I have my iPhone contacts synced with gmail contacts by using an exchange account. I think that's the best way to do it.

Once the exchange account is set up you can turn on push to keep them in constant sync.

I set mine to fetch every hour. I think that saves battery over push.
