Okay, so I'm attempting to set up the craziest email setup ever concocted and I'm not even sure if it is possible. Let me know if you have any better ideas and/or corrections.

So I've got a custom domain email address that currently forwards to my Gmail account, which is my main account. I can reply from either the custom domain or the Gmail address. In addition, the IMAP sends to my iPhone, which is set to send from my custom domain email (using Gmail's servers, but it works).

Here's what I want to do: I'm attempting to migrate to Mail and MobileMe. Ideally, my setup would be for both the custom+Gmail (since they are well-integrated already) to forward to my MobileMe address, which is pushed to my iPhone and the Mail IMAP works better that with Gmail. I would like the MobileMe address to be basically invisible (think Blackberry email address), just forwarding and sorting. All of my incoming and outgoing mail would be either my custom domain or my Gmail.

Here's what I've planned to do so far:

- Forward the custom domain+Gmail to MobileMe
- Set up Mail for MobileMe but with Gmail outgoing mail servers
- It appears that I can do multiple outgoing email addresses in Mail; is the first one simply the default or does it need to match the servers?

The sticky part I think is the iPhone. So far I've found two setups that may work with a combo of the two:

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm close, I'm just afraid to go at it alone!
