I recently started having a weird problem with Safari & GMail. When I'm writing an email in GMail using Safari, my cursor doesn't work properly. It leaves a ghost cursor at the end of my typing, but pressing the arrow keys or clicking with the mouse does not show the cursor at the new position. It does move the cursor but it doesn't show it's new location. Anyone else experience this?

Safari Version 5.0.3 (6533.19.4)
OSX 10.6.6

Thanks

Yup, I do. I have to switch to Firefox in order to see the cursor. It's really annoying!

Safari Version 5.0.5 (6533.21.1)
System Version: Mac OS X 10.6.7 (10J869)

I wanted to see if the problem is widespread, but it does't seem to be so.

Seems it's a problem between Flash and Safari. If you change to rich formatting rather than plain, that fixes it. I also changed the way that Gmail uploads and that fixed it in plain formatting.

Hope that helps!

I don't seem to have the problem, with the same software versions.

Mac OS X 10.6.7 (10J869)
Safari Version 5.0.5 (6533.21.1)

Is there some sort of shortcut key for "insert" possibly?

Are you using Rich Text or Plain Text in Gmail when you are testing this? You Gmail mail settings need to have "Advanced attachment features" turned on.

Weird, now that I try to revert back to recreate the problem, the problem has gone away. I'll leave it and see if it comes back again.
