I use my gmail SMTP for sending emails from my iPhone, this works better for various reasons, not least of all that different WiFi networks often need their own smtp settings but the Gmail smtp seems to work globally. I use Gmail to archive all my emails in case something important gets deleted.

But here is where the problem comes in... When I do this I get a message in Entourage that the mail is from me sent by and then my Gmail address. See image:

some people have been replying to my Gmail address and I have been not noticing their correspondence. I have tried fixing this by going into Gmail's settings and getting Gmail to send through my email client's SMTP servers but this does not seem to make any difference in certain email programs (especially Entourage). Does anyone have some advise on how to fix this?
