I am sure this has been discussed before, and I hate to ask a repeat question, but whenever I am on my wifi at home, my gmail does not connect. I am running it in the mail app and use imap. When I try and get my email, I get a cannot connect to imap.gmail.com message. It works when on 3G fine.

Any ideas?

I am running an express off of an extreme to connect the iphones.

Your home wifi has a firewall and the ports needed for the app to function are closed so the firewall is blocking the required ports to let gmail talk to the sending and receiving servers. While you're at it check youtube, it may also be blocked since it uses non standard ports as well. You must open ports 443, 993, 110, and 587 to let both gmail and youtube work properly.

thanks, I discovered the imap with ssl setting on the airport extreme. I opened that up and it seems to be working great now.
