I'm looking for a solution to have push notifications show an unread-count badge on an icon in the dock, like how OS X does with Messages and Mail, or how iOS does with pretty much any app. Specifically, I'm interested in similar functionality for Gmail and Facebook, so I can click the icon and have it launch FB or Gmail in my browser.
For the record, using my Gmail account in Mail.app doesn't work (apparently it does for some people, but it doesn't for me).
