I am trying to attach a file on Gmail but it will not work. I click on "attach a file" and nothing happens.

Are you accessing Gmail through the web interface, or through a mail application?
If a mail application, which one and what version?
If through the web interface, what browser and version are you running?
What add-ons, plug-ins or extensions are you using?
