Hello, I would like to know how to consolidate my inboxes from gmail and apple mail? Because every time I get an email and read it in inbox it still shows as unread in gmail folder "All mail". Just silly.

I just ignore the Gmail stuff and only use the inbox, but I don't use labels in Gmail either.

Is that the only way? An it kind of disturbs me that it downloaded all of my 10000 messages to my mac. Why does that happen?

You haven't finished setting up your mailboxes. Under Gmail, you need to click on each folder, then on your toolbar, click Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For >

Then you can ignore the Gmail folder below and just refer to your Inbox, Sent, Trash, etc. in Mail.
