I run three Gmail IMAP accounts with Apple Mail (Lion 10.7.4). It runs really smoothly, however, in the Activity panel, one of accounts seems to always do a start-to-finish Sync with the server.
Under normal operation, I realise accounts are regularly synching with the server, but this particular account seems to always do a start-to-finish complete sync, it seems every day - whereas the other accounts do this full sync occasionally.
Interestingly the account that always does the full sync is the one I just use as a storage for old emails, and hardly ever use it for current emails.
As said, Mail is running really well, and I am concerned that this constant full-synching - of this one account - might slow down operation if ever I go to a location with slow internet.
Any ideas?
