Gmail, IMAP Questions, will appreciate any help

Hi

I just have two questions:

1) I just switched to IMAP from POP. In POP i was able delete messages, but in IMAP i can't, why? and how can i fix it.

2)Also i have noticed that when people send me emails containing videos, with POP 90% of the videos will load in the mail application automatically i.e i don't need to double click on them or save them before watching them. With IMAP it looks far less videos load automatically. Why? and how to fix

In answer to question 2 I believe in POP you are physically receiving a copy of the email, while with IMAP you are 'syncing' with your email account. To save downloading a whole video file which you may not watch it waits until you click watch.
