I had a version update on my iPhone, and for the install, the setup for my Gmail went to pop (don't remember what it was before).
I used to receive my gmails on both iPhone and Mac mail (separately, no syncing or marking as read). That is, all email would be received on BOTH iPhone AND Mac mail.
But since I did a restore, and it changed something in my account, I would NOT get Gmail emails on my mac, if they were retrieved on my iPhone first (but OK the other way).
I checked the mail settings online on Gmail, as well as on the iPhone. The iPhone had it as a pop account. I deleted it, and created it again - now it defaultet to IMAP, NOT POP.
And it works now - I now get emails on both devices, no matter what device checks gmail first.
As for mobile me, it just works as usually - syncing all across - but Gmail was the issue - NOW SOLVED!
Hope it can be of use to others ... especially with the pending IOS5 on the way ...
