iPhone Gmail not being marked as read on iPhone 6

I have gmail setup in my iPhone 6 via iOS mail app. Just recently, and after no changes to my device or gmail account, new mail won't mark as read on my iPhone after being read in outlook for Mac OR gmail online. What do you suggest I try? Thx.

I use Gmail and haven't run into that. Try removing the account and re-adding if you haven't already.

re-add your gmail accounts if you are still getting the issue.
