GMail Notifications Not Syncing

When I get a notification from the GMail app from my phone on my watch, it doesn't seem to be in sync. As a result, I turned off receiving notifications from GMail (on my phone) in Notification Center, but I still get watch notifications from GMail. I figured I would just use Mail instead of GMail.

I either want GMail notifications to sync, or, to stop getting GMail notifications period. Please help. Thanks.
