I've just noticed in the last couple of days my GMails seem to be coming through very snappily - perhaps it's just a coincidence - my phone is set to check every 15 minutes. I just sent myself two emails from my Mac to my phone, and within a minute of each being sent it popped up with an alert! Anyone else noticing this?

Really? How strange. Now it says it can't connect to the IMAP server... very odd!

iPhone 2.3 with Push Notifications on Tuesday. Fo sho. :D

Push Notification is a completely seperate thing from Mail push

I've ALWAYS had my GMail seem like its been pushed to my phone for quite some time now (usually within a minute of my Mac notifying me I have a new email, the phone will follow up with the same thing, regardless of how long ago I checked my mail).

Just tested it. Sent an e-mail from another account to my gmail account, waited for about 5 minutes, but still no notification of a new email. I then opened it up and my test e-mail was waiting for me in there. :(
