please can someone help me! I have just bought a new MacBook Pro and have done a manual transfer of files. All is okay apart from my email. I have set it up exactly as I currently have it but there are a couple of things to work out.

Basically I use gmail and iCloud on my iPhone with several email accounts. I also have them on my older Mac set up as PPP accounts. The way it used to work was I generally use the iPhone during the day and at night I open the Mac and download the emails to have a local copy. If I delete them on my iPhone they don't download when I open the Mac and this works for me. Although now this is not fully happening as everything, regardless if I delete it on the iPhone, downloads. Here are my issues;

1) how do I make it so that only my emails I have kept on my iPhone download.

2) when I receive emails I now get 2 copies on my Mac. One as a stand alone email and the other as part of a chain of emails for that conversation.

3) finally I have several accounts but when I chose to send an email from a different address it always uses the master email address as being sent from there. How do I fix this.

All accounts are gmail. I changed nothing on gmail online when transferring so it must be mail settings. Sorry for the long post but any help would be really great!!
