Ok, so I just thought my Google account was hacked but it turned out not to be. Before I realized that my account password was the same as it always was I changed my password to the same password it is. How did google let me do this? Isn't it suppose to say something like, "You cannot change your password to one you have used previously"? Also, is it supposed to email me when ever my email is changed?

I didn't get an email when I changed my password on Gmail.

If it allowed you to change your password to a phrase that it previously was, it obviously doesn't disallow that. Or, you never actually used that password if Gmail doesn't allow that.

Seems like fairly simple logic to me...

Well I changed the password to the one I was currently using so my password must have changed! I mean either way it should have said you can't use this password. Also I never got an email that someone changed my password but when I changed my password I did get an email.
