Gmail push e-mail in Mail w/ Google Apps?

I've changed by settings in Mail to have messages from my Gmail accounts pushed to me using IMAP Idle. This has worked spectacularly for my Gmail accounts, but has worked only sporadically, if at all, with my Google Apps for Your Domain e-mail account (non-Gmail domain name, but running on Gmail's severs and system).

Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice, tricks, or solutions?

It leaves the IMAP connection open instead of checking every x minutes.

I'm intrigued. Is "IMAP Idle" a setting on the phone? In Gmail? Does it work with any IMAP account?
