i would like to be able to get rid of the mail in my all mail box in my gmail account. is there a way to automatically delete the copy in the all mail box when i delete the on in my inbox. its bad enuff that i have a grip of mail in my inbox, just wanna know if there's a way to get rid of the copy in the all mail.

i also use the mail.app. how do i delete all the files in my trash from mail?
thanks!

The copy in the all mail box should be deleted if you delete a message inside the inbox. The "all mail" box is just a box that shows both your archives and your inbox, hence the name.

As for Mac Mail, there should be an option under the preferences/accounts pane that lets you automatically delete your trash every week or two weeks, whatever time interval you want. That way, it'll automatically delete for you.

That's strange. I don't know what's up with that... But I never delete emails in gmail. I just archive them. Their search option is pretty smart, so...

But as other posters have noted, it might be an IMAP/POP issue.
