I use Apple Mail, use dot Mac, and have Gmail set-up as an IMAP account.
I noticed that my library folder:

Mail>IMAP-myemail@gmail.com@imap.gmail
>[Gmail]

is almost 3 gb's in size. I have no email (Gmail user) in Apple Mail and have only put an occasional email in my dot Mac folder. I have tried deleting the contents of this folder only to have it "re-fill" back up to 3 gb's.
How can I prevent this folder from ballooning up again without disabling it in my Apple Mail.
Thanks in advance.

In Mail under Preferences->Accounts->Gmail IMAP account->Advanced, there is a box for "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing". You can try changing it to "Don't keep copies of any messages". You won't be able to read your email offline though.

That did it, Thanks!
