I usually ignore that folder.

But my mom usually gets about 1500 emails a day and it's suddenly dropped to a trickle. She uses Thunderbird so she checked her online spam folder and all of her emails were in there.

I checked mine and sure enough there were about 10 emails from friends that got stuck in there. Emails from MR and SmashBoards were there. I only got 1 email this morning total. I usually get 12-15.

I don't know what's going on. Just a heads up. :D

Same here - only spam in the place where it says spam. No other messages in there by accident.

Yep. that happened to me too a few weeks ago. My girlfriend usually sends me several emails a day when we're not together, but one day there were zero messages. Turns out she sent 3 or 4 but they all ended up in the Gmail Junk folder. But it just happened that once and then everything was fine after that. I guess even God-like Google makes mistakes sometimes...

I usually check my spam folder every few days -- typically I find nothing, but there were a couple legit emails in there today. Maybe Google's got a new spam algorithm.

Wow, add me to the list of thank-ers. Just found six false positives that went to the Spam folder since Wednesday. I hope Google's on top of this. I've gotten used to rarely checking the Spam folder because (until now) their spam filter has been so accurate.
