Is gmail the new email service that Google is testing or did I miss something?

yeah google has a beta version of gmail its an email service thats free and gives you 1gb space if u want an account you have to send an email and hopes google picks you to preview it for more info just google gmail

while we are on 1Gb email thing...spymac has already upgraded all mail accounts to 1 Gb..
