Does anyone know of an artist or group currently producing movies, cartoons, videos on the GNU license? I'm a member of a park committee that is considering showing movies as part of the summer program, at night gets kids and adults together, pop popcorn and watch cartoons or children's films. It's a great idea, it'll really bring families together in the neighborhood and get people out... but if you look into broadcast rights for movies and films that people would actually want to watch... it's $150 - $300 a pop.

So is anyone producing films/cartoons that fit into a "free broadcasting" license? I realize that some old, old movies from the silent era are in the public domain.... but again, not quite the modern flavor I'm looking for.

If someone isn't doing this already... someone should be.

:)

Any ideas or suggestions?

Have you looked into a CCLI for movies? I know for non-profit groups it is cheap for a yearly license. It covers most of the modern studios and current films.
