I've been in the Plex world for a while now as it was the go-to for any time of at home Media streaming/server. I was just checking in to see if that's still the case or has there been any newer applications developed to compete that may be better? I remember reading that there were certain limitations with Plex when it came to surround sound on the ATV 4K. Is Plex still the king of this market?

Plex is still the go to. But a lot of people use infuse as the client and plex as the server since infuse fully integrates with plex server. I use both. Infuse for movies with HD audio and plex for everything else.

I also use my shield for 4k movies where I want atmos/DTS:X though video quality is better on the ATV.
