My boss of ten years is leaving for a new job located in Boston.
She is actually a pretty private person, so choosing a gift is diffucult. Any suggestions?

I know that she does like wine....thats about it.

Pool with other employees --> a Mac Mini? :)

Well, if she is not from the Boston area, a really great pick would be one of the books about the Boston Harbor Islands. Just go to Amazon books and search on "Boston Harbor Islands" to see a selection. Most will have maps and great photographs and descriptions of what each island offers in the way of events or features.

Too many Bostonians may never check out any of the harbor islands, so maybe she can get a new co-worker to join her on a tour of some of them. Anyway it could be an ice-breaker idea, something to chat about on a coffee break at her new job...

Well then, wine it is!
That's what I was thinking. If you can, buy one with a name or label apropos to the current situation. It shows more thought and care on your part, and will leave a lasting impression. Plus, there's no need to break the bank, so long as the name is good!
