Going caseless - is camera bump a problem?

There seem to be quite a few people here rocking their phones careless. I’d like to do this too on an iphone 12 mini. However, I am concerned about how the camera bump will hold up.

Anyone have experience in this regard? Did you get something to protect the bump itself so the lenses don’t scratch? Have you scratched the lenses?

Lens rarely scratch because it has sapphire crystal layer.

What are your main reasons for going case less? I ask because there are ’cases’ which aren’t aimed to add any bulk to your phone - they just cover the back, top & bottom but leave the sides exposed so it still feels like you’re holding a naked iPhone. These cases also come with camera protection & a front lip for screen protection.

Essentially they’re scratch (as opposed to drop) protection cases.

I’ve had the silicone case which has been favourite one but for some purposes it is too grippy. Was thinking about spending big on the leather case but then realised with having Applecare that no case may be the answer.

I still have the front glass protected and a scratch on back glass probably would go unnoticed unless in a lens.

Do you know any examples of the type of case you’re referencing? Worth a look at least.

Been running egrips only for years. Don’t have the newer cameras yet but never had a camera/lens issue. Just note that my jeans have a dedicated phone pocket so I rarely put my phone on tables.

I searched for the thinnest case I could find and found one. Then in July I started using bumpers, and put a glass protector on the back and camera lens protectors. I’m using this case, which is also on Amazon.

Used my 12 mini naked most of the time, rarely in Apple Cases (silicone or leather). No problem with the lens. One major drop on concrete (falled of my pocket while getting out of my car one night after urgent surgery) naked and only some marks on aluminium frame and a crack of the tempered glass screen protector.
