I have a pretty fast 2017 15" MBP. Sometimes I throttle it when during heavy GPU stuff like video editing..It's not terrible, but not bad enough where I want to ditch it for a desktop. I've seen some people running bootcamp and windows on an external SSD. Would this help the thermals of my laptop? What about adding a desktop GPU; would these work in tandem or only separately?

I've also considered going down to a 13" MBP and using an eGPU for when I'm doing heavy lifting...Thanks for reading!
