Going from 2.2 GHz MBP to a new aluminum MB, good idea?

My dad just got one of the new aluminum MB's and I really like it and am thinking of selling my macbook pro and getting one. Do you think I would notice any speed difference either way? I like the portability of the macbook, it would be nice for carrying to school. Would a 2.4GHz Macbook be a lot faster? Just trying to make up my mind.

It really depends what you use it for, remember without the graphics card there isnt going to be any serious gaming, although the Macbook can play most games in low graphics settings

I guess for portabilities sake, but to me, going to a MacBook is detrimental in many ways. I would lose:

Graphics performance
Large screen
Screen quality (the MacBooks have poorer viewing angle).
Sound Quality (Well, the MBP had better sound than the old plastic MBs, not sure about the new ones as the new MBP has better sound than the old MBP)
Backlit keyboard

Stuff I don't care for mostly, but may be an issue at times:
Firewire
Screen Glare
