Hey guys, I'm considering getting a Max model for the first time, and it's huge size is my only concern. I am 6.1' and my hands are proportional. Anyone here, who made this change and has regretted it? Thanks!
Did it take you some time to get used to it, or was it instant? My only regret was I didn't do it sooner.

Jeez, I don't think I can reach the top left one-handed even with the 6.1 model)) Not without repositioning the phone from how I would normally hold it.It took about a week to get used to.
Using my right hand, reaching to the top left to swipe down (to get the Notification pane) was probably the biggest change. It was much easier with a 6.1-inch model. For weight, I got used to it in a couple days.
I keep the phone in my jeans rear pocket or jacket side pocket, so size of phone makes no difference.
yeah exactly the same here, used to be a big "phablet" hater; now i wish I moved to the Plus/Max sooner. My only regret was I didn't do it sooner.

I moved from the X to the XS Max and it took me a good month to be 100% comfortable with it but now? I literally cannot go back to smaller 6.1in iPhones. Small display, small keyboard, small battery. No thank you
I did and I sent the max backHey guys, I'm considering getting a Max model for the first time, and it's huge size is my only concern. I am 6.1' and my hands are proportional. Anyone here, who made this change and has regretted it? Thanks!
one thing I thought about when I made the switch from the X to the XS Max were that Plus/Max phones percentage-wise lose the least value out of the whole model range (checked via Swappa), therefore its definitely no problem of downgrading back to the regular sized model. I'd personally recommend trying out the Max model for a year and if you dont like it trade it in for the regular when the new ones come out.Hoping I will feel the same![]()
If only I could go back to high school daysThere's no limit on phone or tablet size - if you have the right wardrobe.

If I stick it out for a whole year, I doubt I'll want to go back to a smaller screen. Although, looking at some commenters — that is a possibility.one thing I thought about when I made the switch from the X to the XS Max were that Plus/Max phones percentage-wise lose the least value out of the whole model range (checked via Swappa), therefore its definitely no problem of downgrading back to the regular sized model. Did you get the 13 pro max? So you've had it for a while now? You think you'll feel fine going back to a smaller screen?Definitely have ℜ𝔞𝔤𝔯𝔢𝔱𝔰 moving from 6.1 to 6.7. It's just not comfortable to hold - even in my large hand. Heavy and stretches fingers too much. It's also not good looking or comfortable in my pocket (same problem Marco Arment has), and I don't wear tight jeans either.
Ready for 6.1 on my next phone upgrade.
Nice! I probably have larger hands than you) My main concern is being able to comfortably use hold it(with minimal use) in one hand when I'm out and about. When I'm sitting down, I have problem using both hands. I think 2 weeks should be enough, but the thing is I get my products through a buddy of mine, so I don't want to bother him with unnecessary returns..I’m a 67 yr old 5’1” female that went from 5.7 to 6.5 then 6.7. Took me very little time to adjust to the larger size. I love the larger screen and I have no problem holding and using it with one hand. I just slide my hand up the phone to reach the top. If I’m wearing jeans, it goes in my back pocket with no issue. I’m not sure 2 weeks is enough time to decide though. Maybe buy it at the start of the extended return period at Christmas.
Totally, I will obviously have to be happy with it myself, despite what others feel) I guess I'm wondering if it will be uncomfortable enough for me to go back to a smaller phone. I'm generally happy with my 13 pro, but there are times when I wish the screen was bigger, this could be an illusion, but I think my eyes won't get as tired if I have the larger model..I have both and it's confusing. I prefer the standard 14 Pro anytime I'm doing actual smartphone tasks (reading news articles, opening apps and checking things at a glance), but prefer the 14 Pro Max for things that could probably be better done on an iPad (media consumption--games, video, etc). The 14 Pro is just an easier iPhone to deal with for anything requiring one handed use personally and I find it more manageable.
I likely will sell the 14 Pro Max and purchase an iPad Pro. I've previously had the XS Max and 11 Pro Max, but those were lighter, smaller screens and easier for me to manage. I have large hands so it isn't a question of that.
In the end OP, only you can answer this by real world testing. Make no mistake, there are people that are happier with either size and making switches. The 14 Pro Max is far more popular and sells better, but it's not for everyone.
Well great, so if I go Max I'll be filled with regret! Either for switching, or for not having switched earlierOld lady had the 6>X>12 and now has the 14 pro max and her only regret is she didn’t get the pro max model sooner
My wife has the mini, and I can't see myself using something that tinyI’ve gone from the Mini>Pro>Pro Max and back to the Mini.
That's exactly why I tried the 14 Pro Max too (coming from the 12 and then 13 Pro): "I wish this was a bit bigger". Thing is, the Pro Max is in my mind, too big. Chunky, too large and heavy. Whoever said there should be one in between these sizes was smart, cause that's where I likely would land.Totally, I will obviously have to be happy with it myself, despite what others feel) I guess I'm wondering if it will be uncomfortable enough for me to go back to a smaller phone. That sounds very similar to what my sentiments are/would/will be. I guess there is only way to find out... Visually...yes it's quite a bit more satisfying to have the larger iPhone (14 Pro Max). Content is more immersive on a larger screen, hence some of why the iPad even exists. What I find isn't so satisfying is the handling of the 14 Pro Max in portrait mode. That's what I find dissatisfying. Anything where I'd like it to be more one handed.
