Going From iPhone 5 to 5C

I have an iPhone 5 but I plan on giving it to my mom and upgrading for free.

I'm wondering what differences are between the iPhone 5 and 5C? I know the appearence is difference but what about the specs?

I don't think the 5S is worth $100 more than my 5 so I'm wondering what are the differences (hardware) between the 5 vs 5C vs 5S?

Their specs are practically the same between the 5 and 5c. Why not keep your 5 and get your mom a 5c? It's more of a side-grade than an upgrade.

I think I may want the 5C because I hate rocking the case and like the feel of durable plastic.

I've been looking over the 5S and it doesn't seem like that major of an upgrade for someone like myself.

So basically it's just a side-grade? (Camera/Hardware/Etc)

If you have the iphone 5 with a case on it thats colored, you already have the phone 5C.

Why would you trade an iPhone 5 to get a 5C?

The 5C is not an UPgrade from a 5. At best it's a sidegrade. Internally they are fairly well matched. The 5S is much more beefed up inside.

Maybe you should let your mom get a $99 5C and keep your upgrade for the 6 next year?
