hello Guys,

I have the MBP in my signature. i want to sell it and buy the new air.

how is the i5 of the air compare to the 2.4ghz core2 duo?

I know that i'm going to love portability. my only concern is the graphics, i use external screen for viewing hd videos. i don't play games on the mac.

Do you think is worthy upgrade?

to be honest my current mbp serves me well, apart from the fact that i don't like to take with me most of the times.I can sell it for £800 to £850.

I never been fan of the air before, but know it looks really interesting.

I have an old 2.4 core 2 duo iMac and the SSD and i5 combo will move you from warp factor 3 to about 8! If the Star Trek reference makes no sense - you will notice a dramatic improvement in all round speed.

I moved from a 2010 13" MBP which is of a similar spec and I haven't regretted it one bit.

It works on an external monitor perfectly, and plays 1080p without hassle. The i5 makes a world of difference from the c2d, definitely 2x the speed and of course having an SSD in there makes it speed. If you can get 850 quid for your macbook pro and won't miss a bigger screen then by all means go for it.

Thanks guys. no i won't miss the bigger screen. How is screen quality compared to your MBP? Which air did you go for? i'm thinking the 13, 128GB.

I'm making the exact same move as you. My MBP is the same one, but 256GB hard drive. I'm going for the 128GB 13" Air. I'm hoping to get it soon. If you haven't got one by the time I get it, I'll post my thoughts here.

hey peter,

do you think you gonna miss the 9600m gt card?

that's only think i'm worried about even though always use integrated 9400m for battery and heat.
