I am going on a car trip soon and I would like to take my macbook so I can watch movies in the car. Is there anything I could buy so I could plug my macbook in to my cigarette lighter to charge it?

I bought one a few years ago from compusa and it messed up my old windows laptop bad. I had to reinstall the OS and lost all my data. When I took it to the PC store they said that it was a power surge.

So I would like something that is safe. I would be willing to spend about 100 bucks.

Thanks for the help.

Hey Gilliland,

I wouldnt take a chance on on using your macbook in your car I would just charge it before your trip and use it off and on depending on how long your trip is. And why take the off chance that you could get a power spike you wouldnt want to be out a new macbook I personally would wait til you get to where you going so as not to hurt your new macbook.:)
