I'm heading out to Sydney and will be visiting likes of Blue Mountains etc. Also planning to head up to Cairns and see Port Douglas.

So, I need an Australian network that'll give me good coverage in those areas, but also be reasonably priced.

What Pay As You Go deals can any Aussies recommend?

Assuming you are using your iPhone 4 as per your signature, your iPhone will support all the frequencies that are used here.

1. Telstra (3G 850MHz). Most expensive and covers 99% of the population. This is the one I recommend to you. Data packs last for 1 month should be plenty for the 3 weeks you are here. You can pay as much as you need:

$5 for 30 MB
$10 for 200 MB
$20 for 700 MB
$39 for 1 GB
$49 for 3 GB
$59 for 4 GB

2. YES OPTUS
Okay coverage. Uses 2100MHz for city/metro and 900MHz for country/rural areas. Not great if you are going to rural areas.

3. vodafone AU/3
Please don't use this. Coverage is average at best and there is no reception in many places.

So it seems like Telstra are the best deal then! Thanks.
